I help parents fiercely advocate for their children so that their kiddos have the support they need.
"Lanterns in the Dark: A Guide to Effective Advocacy for Parents of Children with Special Needs" will be published in 2026!
Okay, Mama. Take a deep breath. I gotchu.
How can I promise you that?
Because I've been there.
Like you, I'm out here attending IEP meetings, fielding calls and emails from multiple schools and multiple teachers within each school, and worrying constantly about my kiddos.
Staying in control of my own emotions during a meltdown felt impossible and caregiver PTSD is a real thing. I knew I had to get my own shizz figured out so I wouldn't make an already tough situation worse.
And you need special skills to navigate it successfully.
I HAD the skills from years as a military officer and trained contract negotiator and I STILL screwed up in our first meeting with the school.
Here's the thing, skills without a strategy and support won't get you access to what your child needs.
I had leadership, communication, and negotiation skills in my back pocket when I walked into my first foray in special education.
And it was an eye-opening, jaw-dropping disaster.
Our experience, and the years that followed, traumatized me as the parent of a child with special needs.
I was desperate for SOMETHING, ANYTHING that would help me keep my cool during my child's hours-long meltdowns and meetings (ahem, confrontations) with the school.
And I needed better information on how the system works (or doesn't).
So how do I help mamas just like you?
Your nervous system sets the tone for all of it: how you react to your child, your partner, the school, the doctors, and perhaps most importantly, how you react to yourself.
Through coaching, breathwork, and hypnotherapy (coming soon!) you will learn how to navigate your nervous system so you can effectively advocate for your family.
Once you have the beginnings of a grounded nervous system, you will begin to learn the nuts and bolts of the Special Education process. In addition, you will learn from my decades of experience in leading teams, communicating with others, and the basics of negotiation.
It would be an honor and a pleasure to work with you!

[Working with Rebe] could not have come at a better time for me. I have always been more on the anxious side...But with dealing with my aging parents and a special needs adult child, I found that I was feeling anxious all the time and it was affecting my daily life and most importantly sleep.
I left each session calmer and more confident that I could put into practice what I learned.
I highly recommend [you] work 1:1 with her.
I am a trauma-informed Parent Advocacy Coach. I focus on supporting moms with children who have special needs and who are struggling with always putting their own needs last.
I leverage certifications in life coaching, breathwork, and hypnotherapy with my life experiences as a special needs parent and my background as both an officer in the Air Force and a contracts negotiator to help parents fiercely advocate for their children.
Through my private and group work, courses, workshops, and podcast, I utilize all of my skill, knowledge, and wisdom to guide clients to their highest selves.
I simply light lanterns on the dark path as I travel my own parenting and healing journey, so you can find solid ground under your own feet.
PS: Rebe sounds like "Debbie" with an R and I use she/her pronouns.
